The Hamilton International Film Festival is returning to Central New York for a third year and its organizers promise an all star lineup of films, charity-themed events, and red-carpet parties.

Attending the Robert Flaherty Film Seminar means being open to a different kind of film festival.  Don’t, for example, ask for a list of films to be screened, because you won’t get one. Do, however, be open to in-depth discussion, and lots of it.

Last Thursday, ��ҹ���� received a Second Nature Climate Leadership Award in the Baccalaureate category from the American College & University Presidents’ Climate Commitment (ACUPCC). At the organization’s Climate Leadership Summit in Washington, D.C., John Pumilio, ��ҹ����’s sustainability coordinator, and Lyle Roelofs, provost and dean of the faculty, accepted the award on the university’s behalf.

The 16th annual ��ҹ���� Writers’ Conference, featuring a week of intensive workshops in the writing of fiction, non-fiction prose, and poetry, will take place June 19-25. A number of well-known writers will serve as faculty for the event, which draws both published and aspiring writers to discuss their writing, work on pieces, and attend readings.

An independent study project that student-athlete Wade Poplawski ’11 worked on with economics professor Michael O’Hara has turned out to have timely implications.

A group of ��ҹ���� volunteers collected items donated or left behind by students leaving campus for the summer in a “salvage” program that benefited 35 community organizations.
