The University’s highest student honor recognizes character, scholarship, and service that exemplify the ��ҹ���� spirit. It is given each year to a member of the graduating class.

In King: A Life, author Jonathan Eig focuses on Martin Luther King Jr.’s legacy of faith-based radicalism. During his Feb. 11 lecture at ��ҹ����, Beyond The Dream: Embracing a More Complicated Martin Luther King, Eig said he believes King would be horrified at how his activism and writings have been overshadowed by a modern, more palatable version of the civil rights leader.

Senior Bryan (Tai) Pham has been awarded his second consecutive Best Delegate in a Special Role award by fellow students at EuroSim 2025 for his role as chair of the EU Environmental Council. This year’s program focused on the European Green Deal and negotiating legislation aimed at reducing microplastic pollution.

Last summer, Professor David Dudrick was one of 20 academics who participated in Duke University sessions focused on promoting civil discourse on college campuses.

��ҹ���� will host a new speaker series for the spring semester titled The University and the Public Good: The Role of the American College in Our Time, sponsored by the Office of the President.

��ҹ����’s annual MLK Celebration will be held from January 23 to February 1, 2025, and feature a keynote address by Wanjiku “Wawa” Gatheru.

Oct. 17–31, the Department of History and Longyear Museum of Anthropology welcomed artists from Jalabil, a women’s weaving collective in Chiapas, Mexico, for a two-week residency.

Two academic freedom experts, Keith Whittington of Yale Law School and Ulrich Baer of New York University, made their cases for the role and scope of free speech in higher education during ��ҹ����’s 2024 Constitution Day Debate.
