The Picker Interdisciplinary Science Institute has announced this year’s awards supporting interdisciplinary approaches in innovative research.

On Feb. 12, ��ҹ���� celebrated the opening of the Clifford Gallery’s new exhibition from Franco-American artist Suzanne Husky, titled For Alliances with the Beaver People. The exhibition features a singular physical work: an 11-meter-long embroidered tapestry that traces key moments in beaver-human relationships.

This spring, the Longyear Museum of Anthropology is showcasing the student-curated exhibition Unraveled: Labor and Meaning Behind Weaving. Created by 10 students in the fall 2024 MUSE 300: Museum Curating class, the exhibition brings together an incredible range of textiles, baskets, and fiber art from around the world, showcasing the craftsmanship, beauty, and cultural significance of woven works.

The second installment of ��ҹ����’s spring Presidential Speaker Series featured author and UCLA professor Eddie R. Cole.

��ҹ���� has been recognized as a Top Producing Institution for Fulbright U.S. students for a seventh consecutive year.

Reverberations, the 2025 Senior Art Exhibition at ��ҹ����’s Clifford Art Gallery, showcases the work of ��ҹ����’s graduating studio art and art history majors, developed as part of their senior capstone courses in the fall.

Mind, Brain, and Behavior Scholar Anzi Wang ’25 has earned her an honorable mention from the Computing Research Association for her work on why people say what they say.

��ҹ����’s 17th annual celebration of Martin Luther King Jr. Week, Jan. 23–Feb. 1, kicked off with a keynote address by Wanjiku “Wawa” Gatheru, a Rhodes Scholar and environmental justice activist.

Senior Bryan (Tai) Pham has been awarded his second consecutive Best Delegate in a Special Role award by fellow students at EuroSim 2025 for his role as chair of the EU Environmental Council. This year’s program focused on the European Green Deal and negotiating legislation aimed at reducing microplastic pollution.

��ҹ���� has been classified as a Research University by the Carnegie Foundation and the American Council on Education.
